As we move into the final week the collection total is poised to break the £90,000 mark, and with a weekend of concerts including a double helping of the Berlin Phil and a visit from the Boston Symphony Orchestra it seems likely the customary final surge will begin as many regulars leave making a donation until their last Prom of the season.
