Prommers’ gathering

With the cancellation of the last few concerts prommers lost their usual chance for end of season farewells so we decided to make the opportunity for prommers to gather on the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Steps on the afternoon of what would have been the Last Night of the Proms.

Since the carnations that would have been made into buttonholes for conductor, soloists, orchestra and chorus had already been purchased before the Queen’s death it also seemed appropriate to lay these around the dedication stone on the steps as a prommers’ gesture of respect. After the gathering was finished they were taken to Green Park to join the other floral tributes there.

A few more donations for musical charities were also collected, and the online collection remains open via our 2022 Season page.

  1. You all ,once again, were the icing on the cake, made this Season such an enjoyable experience with your eccentric announcements at interval or before the concerts. Thank you all so much, Promming would not be as much fun without you all being there. A huge ‘Well Done!’
