Applications

Some brief notes for charities who wish to apply for funding (see the guidance notes for more detailed information).

A request must come from a registered charity and ideally it should be for a specified, fully costed project.

The PMC Trustees meet in February to start the process of sorting through the various applications for that year’s Proms season, and the date by which applications should arrive is 31 January. However, we would ask that applications do not arrive before November of the previous year.

Monies will only be disbursed following a trustees’ meeting in October or November (if we have received donations such as cheques made out to an individual charity those may be sent out directly after the end of the Proms season).

Of course we cannot guarantee success and, even if a project appeals to the Trustees, the BBC reserves the right of veto as the collections are made in the environs of a BBC concert venue.

While our Hon Secretary will try to send a reminder to any charities that have expressed an interest, we must stress that the onus is on the charities to submit their applications in time.

We hope this helps.
